COFFEE lovers rejoice.
It’s that time of year again when the earthy aromas of this ancient brew will fill the air and guide the senses into the heart of the city’s most popular hub – The Rocks.
The Rocks Aroma Festival Day offers more than 60 stalls dedicated to coffee tastings, grinding and blending, and any other aspect of the industry that true brew worshippers can think of.
From traditional and organic to fairtrade stands, from family-run cafes to specialty and micro-roasters, there will be no bean unturned, no grind left undefined.
The program includes scheduled demonstrations of Turkish ‘ibrik’ coffee-making (MCA, 11.30am-4pm) among other varieties, as well as something for the tea drinkers with opportunities to possibly find out what’s around the corner from the bottom of a cup with tea leaf reading sessions ($10 per person, Nurses Walk, 11am-4pm).
Take a wander through The Rocks Markets (George St, Jack Mundey Place and Playfair Street) while you’re in the neighbourhood for some genuinely creative arts and crafts.
Coffee brewing and tasting workshops are also available until the end of the month.
